Mini Facelift

A mini facelift addresses sagging skin and wrinkles located on the lower third of the face and it restores definition to the chin.  The surgeon makes an incision that extends from the bottom of the earlobe to the hairline and then behind the ear. After the incision is made, the doctor pulls the tissues upward and outward towards the ears. Once the skin and the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system) are in the proper position, they are sutured into place and any excess tissue is trimmed away. A mini facelift provides a natural contour and a rejuvenated appearance to the face.

Ideal candidates for a mini facelift are patients unhappy with the way their face looks due to the aging process as well as someone looking for a procedure with a quicker recovery time than a full facelift. Candidates are normally in their late 40s or early 50s and are looking to address issues like sagging skin and jowls before they become too severe.

The cost of a min facelift is anywhere from $3500-$7500. The cost depends on the extent of the work performed by the surgeon, any fees charged by the facility or the doctor, the area of the country where it is performed and if any other procedures are performed at the same time.

After the procedure, the patient will see some swelling and bruising and also feel some numbness. These conditions can last for a week or two before they resolve on their own. The results of a mini facelift can last three to five years. The reason the results only last this long is because a mini facelift is not as invasive as a full facelift. The results also seem to last longer for a younger patient.
