Cheek Implants

Cheek implants add contour and volume to cheeks that lack definition due to a weak cheek structure or the loss of contour due to age. Cheek implants come in various sizes and shapes and are silicone implants or hydroxyapatite implants which integrate with natural bone tissue. They are inserted through small incisions made in the lower eyelids or the mouth and are placed in small pockets in the cheek tissue. If they are placed in conjunction with another procedure like a facelift or rhinoplasty, the implants are inserted through the incisions for those procedures.

Ideal candidates for cheek implants includes patients without a good deal of definition or volume to the cheeks as well as those looking for a solution to address their sagging cheeks. Candidates also include patients looking for a fuller appearance to the cheeks and anyone who feels that their cheeks are weak in appearance.

The cost of cheek implants is anywhere from $2500-$4500 depending on the size of the implants and if they are placed at the same time as another procedure. The cost can also vary thanks to any fees charged by the doctor or the facility and the geographic area of the country where the surgery is performed.

The results of having cheek implants are long lasting and can be considered a permanent addition to the underlying structure of the face. It should be noted that the implants can be removed by a surgeon if the patient decides they don’t like the way they look or they just want to make another change in the appearance of their cheeks.
