Celebrities confirm they had plastic surgery

BuzzFeed recently published an article that revealed 36 celebrities who have gone on record about their experiences with plastic surgeries. Some celebrities vowed not to get anything done, but most of the stars on the list admitted to having cosmetic surgery or procedures done to their face and bodies.

We couldn’t help but celebrate these celebrities and influencers who have publicly shared their cosmetic transformations without feeling the need to hide them. From nose jobs to removing their boob jobs, we share which celebrities have proudly gone on the record for having work done to their face and body.

Let’s start with celebrities who’ve gotten a nose job.

Celebrity Nose Jobs (Rhinoplasty Surgery)

In an interview with Andy Cohen on his Watch What Happens Live show, Khloe Kardashian confirmed that she got a nose job- and is no stranger to injections, except for Botox. Kardashian’s body doesn’t react well to the muscle relaxing injections.

Iggy Azalea, Tyra Banks, Kaley Cuoco, and Ashley Tisdale all have shared in numerous interviews about having rhinoplasty surgery. Each has shared positive (and some negative) impacts this cosmetic surgery has had on their careers. But actress and former crowned Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, didn’t have nose surgery for cosmetic reasons but rather to fix the bridge of her nose after it collapsed from an endoscopic surgery for her sinuses. A corrective rhinoplasty can be just as transformative as a rhinoplasty done for aesthetic reasons.

What is a Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is a cosmetic surgery that alters the shape or size of a patient’s nose to help improve its functionality (such as breathing) or for a more aesthetically appealing look and facial profile. The surgery involves adjusting the nose’s bone, skin, or cartilage with an open or closed technique.

A closed rhinoplasty is performed by making incisions inside the nose to avoid any external scaring and is primarily used for minor changes to the nose. Open rhinoplasty is performed with incisions made inside and outside of the nose to allow the plastic surgeon to have full access inside the nose, to adjust the cartilage and bone for more extreme changes.

Plastic Surgery to Remove Fat from the Cheeks (Buccal Fat)

Former model and social media influencer Chrissy Teigen, shared on her Instagram stories that she had fat removed from her cheeks with a buccal fat removal surgery. This facial contouring procedure creates a more sculpted and structured face shape by removing fatty tissue from the cheek area.

Buccal Fat Pad Removal, also known as cheek reduction surgery, involves making a small incision inside the mouth where the lining of the cheeks is located. The fibers of the cheek muscle are exposed, and a board-certified plastic surgeon will apply pressure to the cheekbone to carefully squeeze a particular amount of fat through the incision. Some of the buccal fat pad is removed, and the rest is positioned back into place before closing with sutures.

Celebrities with Breast Augmentations (Boob Job)

In separate interviews, both Iggy Azalea and Cardi B have shared not liking parts of their bodies and wanting to make the change for themselves and their self-esteem. They each had a breast augmentation (commonly known as a boob job) and have no regrets.

Breast Augmentation is a cosmetic surgery that involves a patient getting breast implants or a fat transfer to increase and reshape the size of the breast.

To increase the size of breasts by several cup sizes involves inserting breast implants made of silicone gel or saline (saltwater solution). The patient can choose the implant’s size and shape and decide how the implant will be inserted into the breasts with the cosmetic surgeon.

For a more subtle change to the breast shape, a fat transfer for the breasts is commonly performed on patients who may have lost breast fat tissue from pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the aging process. A fat transfer to the breasts involves fat transferred through liposuction from another part of the body where the patient has pockets of fat, such as the abdomen, flank (love handles), or thighs. The liquified fat from the liposuction is injected into various areas of the breast to restore the fullness and volume naturally.

Celebrities Who have Removed their Breast Implants

Chrissy Teigen had her breast implants removed in 2020 and shared it with her Instagram followers about her decision. Teigen shared how she was “over it” and wanted them out. This is a complete contrast to Ashley Tisdale’s story, also shared on Instagram, on having breast implant removal surgery due to health reasons. And Tisdale is not alone. Many celebrities have also admitted to having their breast implants removed. Over the fear of getting breast implant illness or having experiences with it. Breast implant sickness, a condition related to various symptoms developed after a breast implant augmentation.

Breast Implant Removal Surgery is also called an explant surgery, and there are two standard techniques to remove implants from the body. The first method is called “en bloc” capsulectomy, which removes the entire implant and scar tissue all at once. The second technique is called total capsulectomy, removing the implant and scar tissue in a two-step process within the same surgery- allowing the surgeon to examine the area at a deeper surface level.

Final Takeaway - Celebrity Plastic Surgeries

Celebrities who have gone on record for having plastic surgery to enhance and improve their face and bodies have made it more acceptable to have these procedures done without facing any shame.
