Learn about emface and how it can help you

Patients who are looking for a new method of rejuvenating the face are learning more about how Emface can make the desired changes to the face. Emface is a non-invasive facial device that combines radiofrequency energy and high intensity focused electromagnetic stimulation to treat the targeted areas of the skin and muscles. Now that we have revealed what type of energy is used by Emface, let’s get into more specifics of how it works and the type of results it can provide.

Emface – How it Helps the Face

How Emface Helps the FaceEmface has the ability to lift and tighten the skin while also restoring volume that has been lost in the face as a person ages. The procedure treats the muscles in the face and skin while also reducing the look of wrinkles and giving the contours of the face an improved definition.

As mentioned earlier, Emface uses two forms of energy to produce the desired results. Radiofrequency energy promotes the production of collagen and elastin to give the skin a firmer look and feel while also reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. High intensity focused electrical stimulation (HIFES) creates an electromagnetic field which leads to 100% depolarization of the entire muscle. The process of depolarization results in rapid muscle contractions.

The treatment takes about twenty minutes, and it targets three muscles located in the cheeks that help a person smile (zygomaticus major, zygomaticus minor, and risorius). The fourth muscle is the forehead muscle AKA frontalis muscle HIFES causes the muscles to contract as well as gives the face an increased amount of strength. Emface is able to engage the facial muscles in an efficient and intense manner in order to restore lost tone and also pull a sagging face upwards.

In order to achieve the desired changes to the face, patients will need to have at least four treatments with each one spaced out for about a week. There will also be a need for follow-up maintenance treatments to maintain the results.

Emface – Can it Also Cause Wrinkles?

It has often been said that making the same type of facial movements on a regular basis can lead to the creation of wrinkles and folds in the skin. For example, smiling and squinting use the muscles that can result in the formation of crow’s feet while contracting the forehead muscles can cause the appearance of wrinkles.

Emface is able to engage with these muscles in an efficient manner that does not wrinkle the skin too much thanks to the increased production of collagen and elastin.

Emface – Can it be Combined with Botox or Filler?

The simple answer to the question at the start of this section is, “No.” Patients cannot have any type of injectables treatment and then immediately visit a doctor for an Emface treatment. The person must wait until any possible bruising or swelling has resolved before undergoing a Botox or fillers treatment. It is often recommended that a person waits about two weeks after having injectables placed in the body.

There are some medical professionals who feel the pairing of Emface with Botox and fillers enhances the results provided by each treatment. While there is not a definitive answer regarding the combination of these treatments, there are currently some studies being performed regarding this topic.

There is also an idea that Emface can help patients reduce their reliance on Botox and fillers. It is believed that Emface can assist in lessening the need for Botox and fillers by adding volume to the cheeks and giving the forehead a smoother look. However, Emface will not help the lips so lip fillers will still be needed to provide greater volume to the lips.

Emface – Can it be Performed in Place of a Facelift?

As opposed to the use of energy-based solutions, a facelift is an invasive surgical procedure that is performed to reverse visible signs of aging and give the face and jaw a youthful and rejuvenated look. The surgeon will lift the underlying muscles of the face and tighten them in order to give the facial structure a more contoured and refreshed look. In addition, a facelift also removes excess fat and skin that can give a patient an older look.

While early to moderate signs of aging can be treated with Emface, the procedure can only hold off the aging process for a limited amount of time. Noninvasive treatments such as Emface are not able to provide the same level of results as invasive surgical procedures. In other words, it is not a substitute for a facelift. However, it might be an ideal treatment option to help maintain the results of a facelift since it works to increase collagen and elastin production in the face. Patients are invited to schedule a consultation appointment with their doctor to determine if Emface or a surgical facelift is the best choice for their individual medical situation.
