SmartLipo

SmartLipo uses liposuction and laser technology to reduce body fat while also tightening loose skin. A high-energy laser fiber is placed through a small incision, around 2-3mm in length, so the surgeon can melt the fat in the targeted area. The fiber optic laser heat also tightens the loose skin and promotes the production of collagen. The heat is monitored during the treatment to make sure there are no burns or overheating issues. The liquefied fat is suctioned out through a cannula. Any scars that are left behind are small and fade over time.

Ideal candidate for SmartLipo are within 15%-20% of their ideal body weight. They have excess fat in certain areas and mildly lax skin. In addition, patients in their 20-50s that need mild to moderate fat removal are good candidates. SmartLipo can be used on patients that want to treat areas such as the neck, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, upper arms and the gluteal fold under the buttock.

In general, SmartLipo costs around $2500-$5000. The price depends on the size of the area being treated, if multiple treatments are performed, the area of the country where the procedure is performed and any fees charged by the doctor or the facility.

There is little recovery time involved with SmartLipo. There will be some bruising and swelling for a few days to a week. There will also be some numbness that fades over time. Some results will be visible immediately but the final results take about 6 months to be seen. If the patient follows a lifestyle that includes a healthy diet and exercise, the results can last a lifetime.
