Sculptra is injectable cosmetic filler that can be used to restore lost facial volume. It contains poly-L-lactic acid which is a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production. The designated injection sites are cleansed with an antibacterial agent and a topical anesthesia is applied. Sculptra is then injected carefully using multiple small injections. Then, the injection areas are massaged and the results are evaluated to see if further treatments are needed. The initial treatment consists of three injections spread out over three to four months.
