Belotero

Belotero is injectable dermal filler with a hyaluronic acid base that binds with water and helps to plump the skin and makes it look smoother. Over time, the body absorbs the hyaluronic acid in Belotero so repeat injections are needed.  There are multiple Belotero choices and they contain lidocaine that helps to minimize pain from the injection. Before the injection, the area is cleaned with an antiseptic solution. Once the area is cleaned, the doctor injects Belotero using a needle syringe. The area is gently massaged after the injection to help spread out the filler for a more natural look. The number of syringes the doctor uses depends on how many areas are being treated.

Almost all adults bothered by undesired facial wrinkles are a potential candidate for Belotero. In areas where the skin was once youthful and full of volume and the amount of hyaluronic acid is reduced, fine lines and wrinkles take over the appearance of the area. Hyaluronic acid retains water in the skin and adds volume. The procedure is most effective for people who have aging skin issues, Laugh lines, smile lines, lines around the upper or lower lips and lines around the eyes AKA Crow’s feet.

The cost of Belotero depends on multiple factors including the geographic location of the treatment, the amount of areas being treated, the training and experience of the staff members and the number of treatments the patient needs to achieve the desired results. On average, the typical cost for Belotero is anywhere from $250-$700.

Common side effects of Belotero includes swelling, bruising and tenderness. They tend to resolve on their own after a week. Patients should avoid strenuous activity, excessive sun exposure and aspirin for 24-48 hours after the treatment. The length of the results depends on the Belotero used by the doctor. Belotero Basic/Belotero Balance lasts up to 6 months when used for subtle to moderate lines or lip enhancement. Belotero Soft lasts up to 12 months for fine lines or lip enhancement. Belotero Intense lasts up to 12 months when used for deep lines or lip enhancement. Belotero Volume can last up to 18 months when used to add volume to the cheeks or temples.
