Three Plastic Surgery Trends to Watch in 2018

Posted January 09, 2018

Each year seems to bring a certain cosmetic surgery trend that dominates the requests from patients when it comes to making a change in their appearance. While 2017 was a big year for lip augmentation, it might not remain the top choice in the New Year. It is only January but there are already predictions about what will be the most requested procedures in 2018.

Here are three plastic surgery trends to watch for in the New Year:

  1. Filler for the eyes – Many experts predict 2018 will see new uses for fillers. One of the uses being predicted is patients requesting fillers around the eyes. While patients have removed fat from around the eyes in the past to reduce the appearance of bags, doctors are now using fillers to shape the eye area. Fillers around the eyes can restore volume that is lost as a person ages.
  2. Laser Bra Lift – In recent years, the trend of patients wanting larger breasts has lessened in favor of smaller boobs. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the technique known as Laser Bra Lift will likely grow in popularity in 2018. Instead of removing excess skin from the breast area, a Laser Bra Lift leaves the skin intact. A CO2 laser is used to treat the breasts and lift the area which creates an “internal bra” to maintain the shape and appearance of the breasts.
  3. Labia Comfort – A labiaplasty is a technique that reshapes the labia for either aesthetic reasons or to make the area more comfortable while wearing clothing. In fact, demand for the procedure jumped by 23\\% back in 2016. Plastic surgery watchers are expecting the trend to continue as more women have the treatment to increase their comfort level while also helping them gain a greater amount of confidence in their appearance.
