Lily Allen, the 36-year-old singer from the United Kingdom, has been in the news for a number of reasons in the past year. She married actor David Harbour, from “Stranger Things” in 2020 and she admitted to undergoing a liposuction procedure. She also admitted to not telling the truth about her cosmetic procedure in the past. Lily Allen hosted an informal Q&A chat on her Instagram stories, and she promised that no topics were off limits for the chat. In the spirt of no topic being too personal for the chat, one of her followers asked the singer if she had ever undergone any cosmetic procedures.
Without missing a beat, Lily Allen replied “Yeah, I had lipo once on my bum many years ago.”
She them shared the story of being so embarrassed by the procedure that she lied about the reason for her scars in the treatment area. “I was with this guy and he was like ‘what are those scars?’ and I was so embarrassed that I said, ‘it’s from a hip replacement.”
The admission that she did not want to admit she had a liposuction procedure is not an issue that is exclusive to celebrities trying to hide information from the public. Many people do not want to share their cosmetic surgery procedures with their family or friends. They do not want anyone to know that their appearance is due to plastic surgery. They would rather have the public think their appearance is natural and they did not need any kind of surgical help to attain the look they are currently showing to others.
Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that is performed on patients that want to eliminate and/or reduce the amount of stubborn fat that is located on certain parts of the body. In general, liposuction is performed in order to give a patient a smoother and more contoured look to the targeted area of the body.
Some of the most popular areas of the body where liposuction is performed include the abdomen, hips, and thighs. There are multiple liposuction procedures available to patients and the type of liposuction performed depends on the amount of fat that is targeted to be removed and the type of results desired by the patient.
Liposuction is an invasive surgical procedure that involves incisions being made in the body of the patient. A plastic surgeon will start the process by making a series of small incisions in the targeted area of the body. The surgeon will then insert a cannula (which is a long, narrow suction tool that has a blunt tip) in the incisions. The cannula is moved under the skin in order to break apart the targeted area of fat cells in the body of the patient. The cannula is then able to suction out the fat cells and remove them from the body.
The fat that is taken out of the body, by the cannula, is permanently removed from the targeted area and cannot return to the body. However, the patient might still have some stubborn fat cells that appear elsewhere on the body and these areas of fat might need to be addressed through the use of liposuction in the future.
A liposuction procedure can take anywhere from one to two hours before the final results are obtained. The length and extent of the procedure depends on the size of the area being treated by the surgeon. Since it is normally an outpatient procedure, the patient can usually go home the same day as the surgery.
There will be some visible results immediately after the surgery is over but patients will experience some bruising and swelling for about three months. It can take around six months for the skin to tighten to the point that the final results are visible to others.
Besides having liposuction to give her body a better shape and contour, Lily Allen has also been making some big changes in her personal life (including watching her health on a daily basis).
The singer got married last year after meeting her husband in the dressing room of a talk show. When asked about her life as a newly married woman, she replied “You know, it’s kind of fab. I can’t complain. My husband is a delight and I’m feeling pretty good these days.”
In addition to her liposuction procedure, Lily Allen also revealed that she stopped smoking and she also gave up drinking alcohol.
Lily Allen is one of the rare celebrities in show business that does not seem to have any problem talking about any, and all, changes she has made in her personal life. It is refreshing to see a celebrity that is so open about her cosmetic surgery decision as it removes the reluctance that some people might feel about discussing their desire to make alterations or enhancements to the appearance of their body.
