SmartXide

SmartXide DOT (Dermal Optical Thermolysis) laser is an ablative CO2 laser resurfacing procedure. Thousands of microscopic perforations are created on the areas to be treated by the laser energy. The skin around each of the perforations is left intact which allows the epidermis to heal from the edge of these tiny holes very rapidly. The procedure induces immediate skin tightening and new collagen production.

Ideal candidates are healthy individuals who want to treat fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, skin discoloration, skin laxity, acne scars, freckles and sun spots. The procedure is also suitable for patients who want to improve the tone and texture of the skin. Patients who have open sores on the area of treatment or have a history of extreme allergies are not good candidates.

The typical cost ranges from $1000-$2000. The final cost depends on the number of treatments undergone, the severity of the condition being treated, the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure.

The procedure rejuvenates and restores vitality to the skin. After 3-4 days, the upper layers of skin dissolve to reveal a fresh, new surface. After this phase, there may be some residual redness. For the best results 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are needed. Initial results can be seen shortly after the procedure and will continue to improve for 2 to 3 months. Final results can last for 8-18 months.
