Jessner Peel

Jessner peel is a chemical facial peel solution that provides a medium depth peel. The procedure begins with thoroughly cleaning the skin to remove any oil or impurities. The Jessner peel is applied gently across the surface of the areas to be treated in a horizontal and vertical motion for up to five minutes with soft gauze, a brush or a cotton-tipped applicator. The solution exfoliates away the tough, dull, dead layer of skin. After 5-10 minutes, the solution is neutralized and washed off. Once removed, the skin is treated with a cool compress and lotion to soothe the skin.

Ideal candidates want to alleviate acne, smooth wrinkles, improve skin texture, eliminate age spots, treat melasma or reduce the effects of sun damage. The best candidates are patients with fair skin and light hair.

The cost depends on a variety of factors including surgical facility fees, the surgeon's level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure. In general, the cost of a Jessner peel ranges from $100-$300.

The procedure rejuvenates the skin to give it a fresher look, texture and tone. The treated areas take about a week to heal. There could be some swelling, redness, peeling, irritation, dryness or stinging sensation in the treated area for about a week. It can take 5-7 days after the procedure for new skin to develop. Maximum results are evident within 2 weeks and last for about 1-2 months.
