Blue Peel

Blue Peel is a chemical facial peel and skin care system that rejuvenates facial skin by using a slow acting TCA chemical to control the peel process and depth. One to four coats of the blue peel solution are applied to the treatment area and the number of coats depends on the patient's skin condition and aesthetic goals. The solution allows damaged surface layers of the skin to be safely and effectively removed. Blue Peel treatments are given at eight week intervals until the desired effect is achieved. For most patients, one or two peels are sufficient.

Ideal candidates have blemishes, facial lines, scars, uneven pigmentation, age spots, sun damage, wrinkles and acne. The best candidates are patients with fair skin and light hair. Patients with a history of facial scarring, recurring cold sores, skin infections, heart disease or diabetes are not ideal candidates for the procedure.

The typical cost for a Blue Peel procedure ranges from $500 -$1200.The final cost depends on fees charged by the hospital or surgical facility, the surgeon’s level of expertise, the geographic location of the procedure and if any other procedures are performed at the same time.

The procedure rejuvenates the skin and gives it a better look, texture and tone. The skin will have a blue tint for a few days and there could be some mild swelling, redness, itching and tingling for a few weeks. Within 2 or 3 days, the skin will begin to peel and will continue to do so for roughly 7 to 10 days. The blue tint fades away as the skin peels. Once the peeling stops, the results are apparent. The results are permanent but aging continues so occasional touch-up treatments are needed every 6-12 months.
