Laser Genesis

– Laser Genesis is a non-invasive laser treatment that stimulates the body's natural healing abilities to boost collagen and elastin production for a more youthful skin tone and texture. The eyes are covered with protective safety shields. A topical anesthetic agent is applied and a laser handpiece is positioned gently on the skin. NIR (near infrared) radiation is emitted to the surface of the skin being treated as the handpiece is moved across the area. The laser energy stimulates the skin to produce collagen and elastin to rejuvenate the skin.

Ideal candidates are healthy individuals with visible signs of aging, sun damage, discoloration, acne scars, enlarged pores or uneven skin tone. The best candidates are patients in their 30s or older but younger patients can also undergo the procedure. Patients must be off Accutane or one of its generic forms for at least 6 months to a year before the procedure.

The typical cost ranges from $300-$500 per treatment. The final cost depends on the size of the area being treated, the number of treatments needed to achieve the desired results, medical facility fees, the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure.

Little to no downtime is needed after the treatment. Patients may experience mild redness, swelling and itching for a few days. Patients should avoid sun exposure until the skin is completely healed. For the best results, a series of 3-6 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart is needed. The results continue to improve over 2 to 3 months. The final results last for 8-12 months.
