See Why Victoria Beckham is Not Interested in Having Cosmetic Procedures

Victoria Beckham is not interested in cosmetic procedures

It is sometimes easy to forget what you are doing because there are so many distractions on a daily basis. It is not so easy to forget having cosmetic surgery performed on the body to enhance or alter the appearance of a person. However, it seems that Victoria Beckham, a well-known fashion designer and singer, has completely forgotten about a breast enhancement procedure she had several years ago.

Victoria Beckham Discusses Cosmetic Surgery

Victoria Beckham recently appeared on ITV’s “This Morning” to discuss her new makeup line. While appearing on the show, Beckham was asked if she has ever considered undergoing cosmetic surgery.

Her answer was very confusing to some of her longtime fans.

“I haven’t been tempted by a cosmetic procedure, but never say never.”

Victoria Beckham Breast Augmentation

The reason her fans were so confused is the fact that Beckham, back in 2017, admitted to going under the knife for surgical breast augmentation.

Speculation about her possible boon job started gaining steam in the late 1990s when Victoria married David Beckham. Photos of the two of them together showed Victoria with an increased bust that was not evident in the past. At the time, she denied having breast enhancement even though her breasts were obviously bigger.

In the mid-2000s, she dropped a hint or two that she had undergone a breast enhancement procedure and that she had the breast implants removed. During an interview with Allure magazine in 2014, Beckham made jokes about a photo that showed her with bigger breasts. She said, “I don’t have them anymore. I think I may have purchased them. Or they got removed, one or the other.”

Upon further questioning by the interviewer about whether or not she had the implants removed, Beckham simply told the interviewer, “Yeah.”

Besides admitting to the breast implants in 2017, Beckham also wrote a letter to her 18-year-old self in Vogue magazine. In the letter, Victoria wrote “I should probably say, don’t mess with your boobs. All those years I denied it – stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you’ve got.”

Breast Implants Explained

Breast implants are placed in the body of the patient, in the area of the breasts, to enhance and augment the size, shape and look of the breasts. The cosmetic surgeon creates an incision where the breast implants will be placed. In general, breast implants can be placed:

  • Under the breast (inframammary)
  • The armpit (transaxillary)
  • The areola or pigmented area around the nipple
  • The belly button (transumbilical)

The breast implants can be placed under the muscle (submuscular) or above the muscle (subglandular). Once the implants are placed in the patient, the incisions are closed with sutures.

The choice of implants depends on the desired final results as well as the anatomy of the patient. The types of breast implants for breast augmentation include:

  • Saline breast implants – These breast implants contain sterile salt water and are filled when the surgery is performed so the doctor can give the implants a consistent shape and feel.
  • Silicone breast implants – This type of breast implant is filled with a silicone gel and they are only approved for patients that are 22 years of age or older. They are pre-filled before being placed in the body. In addition, they require a longer incision than other types of breast implants.
  • Gummy bear implants – These are breast implants that are gel silicone implants and this means they are cohesive in nature. They are filled with a thick gel that is form-stable which helps them retain their shape. Gummy bear implants are shaped like a teardrop so they have a greater amount of projection at the bottom of the breast.

Victoria Beckham’s Current Feelings about Cosmetic Surgery

While she did finally admit to having breast implants years ago, Beckham’s current attitude about cosmetic surgery appears to be against the idea. During her appearance on the morning talk show, she indicated that any additional procedures are off the table for the moment.

“Maybe ask me that question in another 10, 15, 20 years’ time. Maybe that will have changed, but at the moment, I would rather celebrate who I am and just be the best version of myself, as opposed to trying to change too much.”

Beckham made sure to point out that she is not against others having cosmetic surgery procedures and she is not judgmental of those who go under the knife. “It’s whatever makes anyone feel good about themselves.”

It remains to be seen if Victoria Beckham will continue to be against the idea of cosmetic surgery or if she will one day have another procedure to alter or enhance the appearance of certain features on her body. If history is any indication, if she does decide to have any form of cosmetic surgery, she will likely be very private about the matter and not discuss it with the public for many years to come.
