Discover the plastic surgery procedures popular in 2019

While plastic surgery remains popular all over the world, there are some procedures that always seem to remain popular. Some examples of cosmetic surgery that always remains “in style” include breast augmentation, Botox and rhinoplasty. However, there are other procedures that look to be gaining in popularity in 2019.

Breast Reduction Surgery

Many women want to live a more active lifestyle and this means they are paying attention to the size of their breasts compared to the rest of their body. Breasts that are large and heavy can result in major neck and back pain as a woman exercises. In addition, it is often hard to find clothes that are comfortable to wear. They sometimes have to buy outfits that are a smaller size at the bottom and larger on the top.

Breast reduction surgery incision placement depends on the size of the breasts, how much they sag and the position of the nipple-areola complex. Excess fat and skin is removed using a scalpel or liposuction and the technique is determined by the desired final results of the patient as well as the condition of the breasts. The fat and skin that remains is restructured to create a breast size that is more youthful in appearance. The surgeon then moves the nipple-areola complex to a higher position. Drainage tubes are placed in the incisions to help remove excess fluid and, once they are removed, the incisions are closed with sutures.

Butt Augmentation with Fat Grafting AKA Brazilian Butt Lift

The process of augmenting the buttocks by injecting fat into them is known as a BBL or Brazilian butt lift. Fat is removed from an area of the body such as the thighs or abdomen via liposuction. The removed fat is purified and then it is injected into the buttocks. The results are a backside with more shape, a better contour and increased volume.

This procedure has grown in popularity over the years thanks to celebrities showing off their ample backsides in form-fitting dresses on the red carpet as well as during music performances. It is a good procedure for women that have excess fat in other areas of the body that can be transferred to the booty.

Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck, which is also known as abdominoplasty, is when a doctor removes the excess skin and fat from the abdomen of a patient. The removal of the skin and fat occurs through an incision that is placed below the bikini line. The belly button is also detached from the skin which allows the surgeon to perform a complete re-draping of the abdominal skin. Any muscles that are still loose are pulled tighter and then sutured into position.

This procedure is ideal for patients that have lost a significant amount of weight thanks to surgery or through diet and exercise. In addition, it is a good option for women that have skin that is stretched, as well as muscles that have separated, due to pregnancy.

Noninvasive Fat Reduction

There are many individuals that want to remove excess fat from the body that has been resistant to diet and exercise. However, they do not want to undergo a surgical procedure such as liposuction. Noninvasive fat reduction uses thermal manipulation techniques to remove the excess fat and improve the shape and contour of the body.

Some of the most popular noninvasive fat reduction options include:

  • CoolSculpting where freezing technology makes the fat cells crystalize which causes a permanent removal of the fat cells
  • Vanquish uses radiofrequency energy to heat and melt away fat cells
  • SculpSure heats fat cells which causes them to rupture and be destroyed
  • Kybella is a version of deoxycholic acid that is injected to destroy fat cells and tighten the skin in the treated area

Consult with a Board-Certified Cosmetic Surgery Doctor

Before making the final decision to undergo any type of plastic surgery, patients should consult with a board-certified surgeon that is experienced in performing any of the above procedures. The doctor will perform a thorough examination of the patient to make sure the person is a good candidate for the desired procedure. In addition, the doctor will discuss medical options with the patient to find the right procedure that will deliver the desired results.
