NeNe Leakes is an actor and a reality TV star who is known for not holding back on sharing her opinion and always giving details about her personal life to her fans. Recently, she made the decision to share information regarding her plastic surgery journey.
The 54-year-old star of the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” shared the news that she had liposuction as well as a “professional, mini Brazilian butt lift” performed on her body. One of the reasons that she revealed her procedures was the fact that she was named the ambassador of Dr. Okoro’s Georgia Plastic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery center.
In a video shared on Instagram, Leakes told her followers she was “only looking to fix my problem areas. So, we called in a ‘professional, mini BBL.’ And I love it. So, I’m gonna take you on this journey with me and Dr. Okoro to fix some of my problem areas and become perfectly you.”
She continued the video by saying, “Come on, follow me on this journey of liposuction 360 and professional mini, BBL.”
In addition, to her BBL and liposuction procedures, Leakes has undergone rhinoplasty and breast augmentation in the past.
Leakes also posted a second video that took her followers through the process of visiting Dr. Okoro and having cosmetic surgery performed at his office. While this video did not include all of the surgery being performed on Leakes, it does show the doctor performing liposuction on her in the operating room.
After the surgical procedures, she wrote, “I did it! I got a ‘Professional BBL’ with Dr. Okoro. Follow my surgery journey with Dr. Okoro at Georgia Plastic.”
She also finished the posts/plugs for the doctor by offering her fans a discount off their procedure using a promo code while also declaring, “I’m almost ready to show off my new snatched look but I want you to be snatched too.”
Back in 2016, NeNe Leakes spoke to Andy Cohen about having a second rhinoplasty procedure for medical reasons. During an appearance of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen,” Leakes said, “Yes, I had my nose done again. Yes, I did.”
She added, “Yes, because it was a real medical reason why I had to get it done again. My cartilage was growing in my nose and my tip was touching the top of my lip. The tip of my nose was touching my lip when I smiled.
Leakes made sure to tell Cohen that she did not have a second nose job for aesthetic reasons or for fun. The actor told him she only chooses to have plastic surgery when she feels that she needs to have a procedure.
“I always keep it very, very real. You can always ask me anything. I would never do my nose just for the purpose of doing my nose. It wasn’t just for doing my nose, it was because I didn’t love my nose and I wanted to do my nose to make it more beautiful for myself.”
The decision to have plastic surgery is a personal one which means it is the decision of each individual whether or not they want to share the news that they had any type of plastic surgery procedure. NeNe Leakes is known for sharing her thoughts and opinions on any topic she has on her mind, so it is not surprising that she is willing to let her fans in on the fact that she has undergone multiple cosmetic procedures in her life.
However, not all celebrities are as open as Leakes. They either do not acknowledge the fact that they have made any changes to their appearance, or they tell their fans and the media that they have not made any changes to their body using surgical methods.
As stated earlier, it is up to each individual to determine if they want others to know they had plastic surgery. It is always welcome when a celebrity shares any news about their procedures because their fans often try and attain the same look as the celebrities they admire. If they think the celebrity naturally looks a certain way, the fans might try and change their look to match the celebrity. On the other hand, if the celebrity admits to having some type of cosmetic surgery, the fan might think twice about it if they know the person they admire had to have surgical help to achieve their current look. The fans might not want to alter their look with surgery if they know the celebrity also needed help with his or her appearance.
