Give the Gift of a New Look This Holiday Season

Posted October 02, 2015

Fall is here which means the holidays are just around the corner. Before you know it, people will be dressing up in their finest outfits for holiday parties and gatherings.  The holidays are also the time of year when gift giving is in the air.  It’s never too early to start giving some thought to the perfect gift for your loved one.  It’s also a good time to start hinting to your family members about the presents you’d like to get this year.  Giving the gift of plastic surgery or a cosmetic procedure is tricky because you don’t want to appear as if you’re not happy with the way a family member currently looks.  However, there are times when the gift of a nip here and a tuck there make the perfect holiday gift.

  • Adding fat to the face – One of the hottest trends in plastic surgery doesn’t involve removing fat from the body. In fact, it actually adds fat to the face! Thanks to the aging process, people tend to lose some of the volume in their face. Adding some fat back into the face helps to revitalize the elasticity of the skin as well as giving the patient a more youthful look. The fat can be added in by itself or it can be done with another treatment such as a facelift.
  • Bro-Tox – The number of men deciding to have cosmetic surgery has been on the increase in the past few years. In fact, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the number of men looking to have a Botox procedure has increased an amazing 310% since the year 2000! Is it a classic case of men trying to look younger in order to appeal to younger women?  Not necessarily. The prevailing wisdom is that most men have cosmetic procedures such as Botox in order to look younger in the workplace. The gift of Botox, or other cosmetic procedures, is a great idea for the man in your life. Plus, you might be able to write it off as a work expense on your taxes.
  • Get rid of those chubby cheeks – It doesn’t matter if you call them chubby cheeks, jowls, puffy cheeks or plump cheeks. Give the gift of a buccal lipectomy to remove a portion of fat around the size of a gumball from the cheeks. The final results give a more contoured look to the face.
  • Rhinoplasty minus the scalpel – Know someone who would love a new nose but is afraid of going under the knife? Liquid Rhinoplasty helps to even out any irregularities that exist around the bride of the nose. This liquid procedure also raises the nasal bridge without the use of a scalpel. It should be noted that not all “nose issues” can be fixed using the liquid method so do your research before choosing this gift option.
  • Planning for the 2016 bikini season – Have a loved one that wants to rock a bikini but is too self-conscious due to a dreaded outie belly button? Make their dreams come true with a plastic surgery option designed to get rid of the outie issue. Outie belly buttons are really nothing more than smallish umbilical hernias. By making an incision on the upper part of the belly button, doctors can turn an “outie” into an “innie”. The best part is the incision is small so the resulting scar is not normally visible.

These are just a few gift giving ideas for the upcoming holiday season. A person should always exercise caution when giving a gift that can change the looks of a loved one.  Make sure that the person receiving the gift is in good health and able to undergo a procedure. Also, be certain that the person receiving the gift actually wants to make a change in their appearance otherwise you could be buying a lot of “I’m Sorry” gifts in the future.
