ProFractional Laser

ProFractional laser rejuvenates the skin and provides a youthful appearance. A laser handpiece is positioned gently on the skin. Laser energy is emitted to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of the skin. The handpiece will continue to move until the entire treatment area has been covered. Only a fraction of the skin is directly treated with the laser so the surrounding untreated tissues promote rapid healing. Also, the skin’s wound healing response creates new collagen. A cooling technology is applied to provide patient comfort.

Ideal candidates are healthy individuals with visible signs of aging, sun damage, discoloration, acne scars, enlarged pores or uneven skin tone. The best candidates are patients in their 30s (or older) but younger patients can also undergo the procedure. Patients must be off Accutane or one of its generic forms for at least 6 months to a year before the procedure.

The typical cost ranges from $200-$500 per treatment. The final cost depends on the size of the area being treated, the number of treatments needed to achieve the desired results and the geographic location of the procedure.

The procedure rejuvenates the skin and restores radiance. Patients may experience mild redness, swelling and a sensation similar to sunburn so cold compresses are applied. For the best results, a series of 3-6 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, is needed. Initial results can be seen shortly after the procedure and they continue to improve over the next 2-3 months. Final results can last for many years but are subject to the natural aging of the body.
