Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating, is a condition that can be annoying and embarrassing. There are different options to treat this condition and one of the most effective is Botox injections. Botox is an injection that prevents the release of chemicals that tell the body to sweat. Before injecting the area with Botox, the practitioner will numb the area with a cream. A series of injections will be placed under the skin in a grid pattern.  The area where the Botox is injected will no longer sweat. This treatment can be used in the underarm, forehead, palms of the hand and soles of the feet.

Botox injections are an option for individuals who find sweating to be interfering with their daily activities. Good candidates for this treatment are men and women in good general health and that do not have any kind of allergic reaction to Botox.

The cost of Botox injections for hyperhidrosis varies depending on which area of the body is experiencing excessive sweating and the size of the area needing the treatment. The price can vary from $800-$3000.

Right after the injections, patients can resume normal activities. Two to seven days after the injections, they will notice a dramatic decrease in the amount of sweating. After two weeks, there will be little to no sweat in the area of the injections.  Botox injections last about a year and can be repeated as desired by the patient.
