Restylane

Restylane is dermal filler that treats facial wrinkles and volume loss that happens during the aging process. It is made of hyaluronic acid which is naturally found in the body and it rejuvenates the skin to give the patient a more youthful appearance. Before the injection, the doctor numbs the treatment site. A thin needle is used to inject the Restylane under the skin. The amount of filler is determined by the results desired by the patient. The hyaluronic acid draws water to the treated area and causes the tissue to swell and fill out wrinkles and lines. The doctor massages the treated area to make sure the filler is placed evenly.

A person that wants to stop the early signs of aging is a good candidate for Restylane. In addition, patients that do not want to undergo a surgical treatment or who are looking to see what the results will look like without having surgery are good candidates. In general, Restylane candidates are people with fine lines, wrinkles and volume loss due to the aging process.

The cost of Restylane is determined by the amount of fine lines and wrinkles that need to be addressed and the amount of filler needed to achieve the desired results. The cost of Restylane, per syringe, is typically $500-$800. The cost can vary per doctor as well as by the area of the country where the treatment is performed.

The results from Restylane typically last six to nine months before a new treatment is needed by the patient. The results include a youthful and more rejuvenated appearance with a reduction in the amount of lines and wrinkles in the area treated by the doctor.
