Prevelle

Prevelle is a single cross-linked product made from hyaluronic acid and is designed for a superficial injection level. Prevelle contains lidocaine which reduces discomfort during the procedure. The procedure begins with the cleansing of the marked injection sites with an antibacterial agent. The number of injections given depends on the area being treated and the depth of the wrinkle. Prevelle adds volume to the skin and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles. The procedure typically lasts 30 minutes to one hour.

Ideal candidates are healthy individuals who are 35 to 60 years old. Patients with nasolabial folds, or lines running from the corners of the mouth to the sides of the nose, are good candidates. Patients that have allergic reactions to lidocaine or on a regimen of anti-inflammatory drugs or blood thinners are not good candidates.

The cost of Prevelle depends on a variety of factors including the amount injected, how many injections are performed, the geographic location of the procedure and if any other procedures are performed at the same time. In general, the cost of a Prevelle procedure ranges from $300-$600.

The procedure revitalizes the skin and gives a more youthful appearance. There is little downtime required after the procedure but swelling, bruising, tenderness and redness can occur. These typically mild effects resolve within two or three days. Patients should avoid lying down for about four hours after the procedure. Patients should also refrain from rubbing or massaging the injection areas for about 24 hours. The results typically last anywhere from three to six months.
