Tattoo Removal

Permanent tattoos can be removed using non-invasive laser treatment. A laser creates a wavelength of energy that will be absorbed by the tattoo. This causes the pigment to shatter and be absorbed by the body. A number of laser treatments may be necessary to remove the tattoo. The number of treatments depends on the color of the tattoo, the expertise of the person who made the tattoo, the size of the tattoo and its age.

Candidates for this treatment are those with fair skin and dark colored tattoos. Yellow and white tattoos are difficult to remove using this method. Advanced lasers and techniques make it possible to remove tattoos from individuals with darker colored skin.

The cost of each laser session ranges from $800-$1500 dollars. The final cost depends on the size of the tattoo, the amount of work that needs to be done and the area of the country where it is performed.

After the treatment, applying ice to the area will help with redness and swelling. The area should be covered with antibiotic ointment, and a bandage or gauze. With each treatment session, the tattoo will be noticeably lighter. Once the tattoo is removed, the results of the tattoo laser treatment are permanent.
