Portrait Plasma

Portrait plasma is a thermal energy-based treatment that stimulates the skin’s collagen and elastin production to rejuvenate the skin from the inside. A special handpiece is waved over the areas to be treated without direct contact with the skin. This delivers millisecond pulses of nitrogen-based plasma to the skin’s surface and causes a controlled heating of the skin's tissues. Portrait plasma leaves the skin's surface intact and the preserved outer layers of the skin serve as a protective dressing until new skin grows.

Ideal candidates want to treat wrinkles, spots, sun damage, visible signs of aging, discoloration, acne scars, enlarged pores or uneven skin tone. Patients who want to improve the overall tone and texture of the skin, reduce acne scarring or remove pre-cancerous lesions are also suitable candidates.

The typical cost ranges from $1500-$3000.The final cost depends on the size of the area being treated, the severity of the condition, the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure.

The amount of downtime needed varies with the severity of the treatment. There could be some slight tenderness, redness, swelling and itching after the procedure that will dissipate within a few days. Initial results can be seen shortly after the procedure and will continue to improve over the next couple of months. The final results last for 12-18 months before touch-up treatments are needed.
