MiXto Laser

MiXto laser is a fractional Co2 laser resurfacing procedure. The treatment involves the use of a carbon dioxide laser that delivers a tightly focused beam that produces a smooth tissue ablation. The laser removes the top cells of the dermis and the heat it produces causes the skin to tighten. It also stimulates the skin’s repair process which rejuvenates the skin from the inside. Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure takes 40-60 minutes.

Ideal candidates want to treat fine lines, skin laxity, uneven skin tone, wrinkles, acne, acne scars, freckles, brown spots and sun spots. The procedure is also suitable for patients who want to improve the tone and texture of the skin. Patients who have open sores on the area of treatment or bleeding disorders are not good candidates for the treatment.

The typical cost ranges from $1500-$3000. The final cost depends on the number of treatments performed, the severity of the condition being treated, the surgeon’s level of expertise and the geographic location of the procedure.

A downtime of 5-7 days is needed after the procedure. Patients will experience some redness, swelling and itching over the treated area. There may also be some swelling for 2-5 days. Most patients only need one treatment but patients with deep wrinkles or severe acne scars might need 2-3 sessions. Initial results can be seen shortly after the procedure and will continue to improve over the next 3-6 months. Final results can last for up to 5 years.
