A gum lift raises and sculpts the gum line by reshaping the tissue and/or underlying bones. The procedure can be performed using scalpels or lasers. A pen is used to draw a line to mark the new gum line and then the excess gum tissues are gently removed and a new gum line is reshaped. The bone at the front of the tooth's root may also be removed during the procedure to get the best long-term results.
