DeScribe PFD Patch

DeScribe PFD Patch is a clear silicone patch used to make laser tattoo removal treatments more effective and clear the tattoo in less time. The patch contains two layers of silicone sandwiching a layer of PFD liquid. The PFD liquid helps the laser energy remain focused on the tattoo ink and not get dispersed into the surrounding skin. The patch protects the upper layers of the skin, and the skin surrounding the tattoo, from the laser energy. A DeScribe PFD Patch is placed on the tattoo and then the laser treatment is done on top of the patch. Each treatment session lasts longer because the patch allows the provider to perform multiple passes with the laser.

All patients undergoing laser tattoo removal treatments are excellent candidates for the procedure. A maximum of two patches can be placed on one tattoo so those with very large tattoos can have only a particular area experience the benefit of the patch.

The cost of the patch varies as the use of the patch allows the provider to treat the tattoo with multiple passes of the laser. This means the treatment with the patch is more time consuming and more expensive. Some providers charge for the patch while other providers offer a different fee for tattoo removal with DeScribe PFD Patches. The cost is anywhere from $40-$100 per session.

After the treatment, the patch is removed and the doctor will give directions on how to care for the treated area. Following the treatment, there might be some itching due to the ink clearance. Patients will see the tattoo getting noticeably lighter and the results are permanent.
