Kelly Clarkson talks about plastic surgery

It does not take long to realize that Kelly Clarkson is open about any and all subjects on her mind. She has publicly addressed multiple issues including her divorce, her weight, parenting and the topic of aging. One thing her fans love about her is she does not seem to care what others think about her as long as she is happy with her life. This is very true when it comes to the subject of her appearance and the beauty standards that are placed on public figures.

Kelly Clarkson Shares Her Opinion about Beauty and Plastic Surgery

Back in 2018, Kelly told People Magazine, "My beauty mantra is, "Y'all, I just don't really care, and I mean that in a positive way. I just don't care about things I feel like people put a lot of weight and gravity in. I do thank my upbringing for that. I just, I care about things that I feel like are important. So my beauty mantra is just to be a beautiful, kind, nice and thoughtful [person]."

When it comes to plastic surgery and the aging process, Clarkson says she wants to age naturally. During an interview with actress Mayim Bialik on Mayim's podcast, the two women discussed a variety of topics and one of the items they chatted about during the episode was plastic surgery. During the interview, Kelly stated she does not have plans to undergo any type of cosmetic procedure. Her decision to not have cosmetic procedures includes invasive cosmetic surgery as well as nonsurgical treatments such as Botox.

Clarkson said "I'm gonna look like a total Shar-Pei, like a dog. I'm gonna have every wrinkle in the world on my face. It has nothing to do with me being better than somebody that gets [work done on] their face. I'm afraid of stuff called botulinum toxin."

While Bialik noted that she hopes to be out of the entertainment industry before she starts to exhibit major signs of the aging process, Kelly admitted she has other ideas about aging in the world of entertainment. "I hope I'm still having my talk show and I hope people see this is what it looks like, this is how you look when you get older; it's fine."

Kelly Clarkson and Her Attitude about Being Glamorous

Even though Kelly said she does like to be glamorous in her appearance while she is working, she has a different attitude about her look in her daily life. "I like doing it for work because I think it's fun, it's like dress-up when you're a kid, but in my everyday, nah, I'm not gonna get dressed up to go to Target or hang out with my friends. I'm gonna do what I want to do in that moment."

Her feelings about having a different appearance at home and at work is likely one that many women across the United States agree with on a daily basis.

The image that Kelly Clarkson shares with the public has been a battle for her ever since she won American Idol back in 2002. "Everybody would always try to micromanage everything and try to get you to be something that you're not. That's been the hardest challenge."

Kelly made sure to live the attitude and words shared above during the remote filming of her show during 2020. Since she did not have the assistance of her style and makeup team during this part of the pandemic, she did most of her remote filming without wearing makeup on her show. She seemed to really enjoy being able to not worry about having to wear makeup or glamorous clothes during her talk show. When it comes to her skincare routine, she likes to keep it simple by relying on little more than eye cream and an effective moisturizer before she has to get ready for big events.

Botox Explained

Even though Kelly Clarkson is not a fan of the idea of having Botox, there are many patients that enjoy the anti-aging results that are available from using the product.

Botox is injected into targeted areas on the face to help reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles and give the skin a smooth appearance. Botox is injected into a muscle that is located near a wrinkle. Neuromuscular blockers work to limit muscle contractions that cause wrinkles to appear in the targeted area of the face. The limited muscle contractions help the muscles relax and the skin to gain a smooth look that is free of lines and wrinkles.

When it comes to the face, Botox provides good results in areas that have wrinkles caused by actions such as excessive frowning or squinting. Some of the most popular areas for Botox treatments include the corners of the eyes and the forehead. The relaxation of the treated muscles means the skin is not being pulled on a constant basis.

The results of Botox are not permanent so additional treatments will need to be performed in order to maintain the results.
