Facts to Know to Get a Better Booty

Facts patients should know in order to get a better booty

One of the most popular ways to try and get a toned and contoured butt is going to gym on a daily basis to perform hours of squats and other exercises. However, there are many people that do not want to go through the trouble of exercising each day to get the results they want to see. Instead, they often turn to butt augmentation procedures to get the booty they desire.

Butt Augmentation Techniques

When it comes to butt augmentation, there are multiple methods available for patients to get a bigger backside:

Fat Grafting – This butt augmentation method is one of the most popular techniques currently being performed. Butt augmentation, via fat grafting, is also known as a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) and it involves the surgeon removing fat from one area of the body through the use of liposuction. The fat is removed from areas such as the stomach, upper back or thighs and it is then purified and injected into the buttocks. While some results are immediately visible, the final results won’t be seen until about a year after the surgery. Fat grafting does include risks like changes in sensation in the treated area, blood clots and fat embolism (fat moving into the bloodstream). On the other hand, there is very little risk of infection since the fat comes from the body of the patient.

Silicone Implants – There are some patients that do not have enough fat to transfer to the booty through fat grafting. These patients are good candidates for butt implants which is a surgical procedure where the doctor inserts silicone implants into the booty. An incision is made within the vertical butt crease so the silicone implants can be placed into, or above, the gluteal muscle on each side of the buttocks. The butt implants are teardrop-shaped to give a greater amount of fullness along the mid-section of the buttocks or they are round to give a fuller look to the mid-section or top area. Buttock implants are normally placed using the intramuscular technique which means the implant is placed in a pocket of the gluteal muscle. The results are visible immediately but it can take several months for the swelling to dissipate and for the implants to settle into their final position.

Buttock Augmentation Risks

Patients that want to get the biggest butt implants possible should be aware that there are risks involved in getting bigger implants. Larger butt implants have a high risk of the incisions splitting open after the surgery as well as the butt implants shifting under the skin.

As mentioned above, the incisions can split open after the surgery thanks to patients doing something as simple as bending over too soon after the procedure. The splitting of incisions can cause a patient to experience infections and/or seromas (fluid build-up under the surface of the skin).

Butt Augmentation Recovery

No matter which butt augmentation technique is performed on the backside of a patient, the recovery period will take a little while for the person to get through before normal activities can be resumed.

The patient will not be able to lie on their back for two weeks after the surgery and the person will likely not be able to go to work or school during the recovery period. The reason the patient will have to miss school or work is the restrictions that will be placed on being able to sit for long periods of time. There will also be some bruising, swelling and general discomfort following the surgery.

Patients will be fitted with a compression garment to help reduce pain and swelling and provide support to the treated area. The swelling can last for several months after the surgery. Patients can shower but they will not be able to take a bath or swim for the first few weeks after surgery.

Patients are not allowed to sit on their buttocks for the first two weeks except for using the bathroom. Once the third week of the recovery process begins, patients can sit for a little bit but not directly on the buttocks. A pillow can be used to keep pressure off the buttocks by placing the pillow under the hamstring muscles. After 4-6 weeks, patients can start to resume normal activities.

Consult with an Experienced Butt Augmentation Surgeon

Before making the final decision to undergo butt augmentation, patients should schedule a consultation appointment with a board-certified doctor. Ask to see “before and after” photos of actual patients treated by the surgeon. In addition, the surgeon needs to set realistic expectations so the patient will be not be surprised or disappointed by the final results that will be visible after the surgery. Even with realistic expectations being set in advance, not all patients will be happy with their final results so patients should be aware of their options to revise the butt augmentation results if they are not happy with the final results.

While surgical butt augmentation can provide the desired results, some patients might be better off visiting the gym to achieve the desired results. By visiting the gym to gain a more toned backside thanks to leg raises and glutes, patients will avoid having to pay for surgery as well as any risks involved with surgical butt augmentation.
