Learn about Baby Brazilian Butt Lift

It is no surprise that big butts are in fashion as patients try to gain a booty that has a greater size and contour. Part of the appreciation for a bigger booty comes from its place in pop culture, social media, and the look of celebrities at red carpet events. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the growth in popularity of the Brazilian butt lift (BBL) has been reflected in a 90.3\\% increase in the surgery being performed between 2015 and 2019. In the past, the treatment has not been recognized as an ideal procedure for candidates with a body that does not have a good amount of excess fat to transfer into the booty of a patient. When a lack of excess fat is the case, patients might be able to have a baby BBL.

Baby Brazilian Butt Lift - What is it?

A baby Brazilian butt lift, also known as a petite BBL, is a Brazilian butt lift procedure for patient that have a lower BMI and a petite frame. It should be noted that this version of the BBL will not give a patient the same results as the traditional Brazilian butt lift, but it will provide the butt with a look that is plumper and rounder in size. It is a good idea for someone that wants a more subtle result to the appearance of the booty.

In terms of the actual procedure, the surgeon will perform the same act of harvesting fat from the body of the patient so it can be processed and purified before it is injected into the butt of the patient. However, it will be a smaller amount of fat that is harvested through the use of liposuction. The excess fat can usually be removed from areas of the body such as the abdomen, upper back, the waist, and the middle section of the back.

Once the fat has been injected in the targeted section of the buttocks, the incisions made in the body will be closed and a compression garment will be placed in order to help minimize the amount of swelling after the surgery.

Baby Brazilian Butt Lift - Ideal Patient

In general, the majority of baby BBL patients will have a BMI that is anywhere from 20 to 23 which means the patient will weigh somewhere between 120-135 pounds.

Baby BBL - Recovery and Results Explained

Patients can expect to enjoy a fairly quick recovery process after the procedure. They will need to plan to take a week or two off work to properly recover. The amount of pain after the surgery will last anywhere from three to five days. After about two weeks, the patient can start to perform some light physical activity before heavier physical activity and exercise can begin during the fourth week after the baby BBL.

The chance of experiencing side effects is lower if the plastic surgeon is board-certified and experienced in performing various Brazilian butt lift procedures. As mentioned above, the patient will need to wear a compression garment in order to minimize the swelling after the BBL. It is also important to keep the area where the incisions were made as clean as possible during the recovery process.

The type of results experienced by the patient depends on the amount of fat that is placed into the backside. Patients can have more than one BBL procedure if they are not happy with the amount of augmentation that is seen after the first surgery. In addition, there is a limit to the amount of fat that can safely be injected into the butt during any single treatment. Most patients only have one surgery, but it is possible to have multiple BBL procedures.

There will be some results that are visible immediately after the surgery, but it will take a little while before the final results are visible. Plus, all of the injected fat will not survive the fat transfer process so the amount of fat that is able to survive will impact the final results.

It can take anywhere from three to six months to see the final results and they will be permanent.

Baby Brazilian Butt Lift - How to Decide Whether to Have the Procedure (or not)

Patients that are interested in having a baby BBL should consult with their doctor to determine if they can achieve the desired results with the surgery. If the person is looking to gain a bit more volume and shape to their butt, this Brazilian butt lift technique might be the ideal choice for them.

It is also important to ask the doctor any questions about the surgery and this includes asking about ?pros and cons? that come with having the treatment. Once the patient and the surgeon are on the same page about the type of results that can be expected from the surgery, the patient can decide if a baby BBL is the right decision for them to gain the desired look to the butt.
