Kelly Ripa Botox Backfire

Posted November 14, 2016

Many celebrities undergo Botox treatment. However, not many celebrities admit to having Botox much less having a bad experience with their Botox treatment.

Kelly Ripa, the host of “Live with Kelly”, opened up about “bad Botox” that left her unable to smile for 6 months. Ripa told the story of her Botox experience during an episode of her show co-hosted by Megyn Kelly. She has mentioned her Botox use in the past but her most recent story served to expose possible side effects of the treatment.

Ripa was discussing what she considers the “good and bad” sides of her face with Kelly when she decided, in her words, to share “a story I’ve never told anyone.” She then proceeded to tell Kelly and her studio audience that she had a bad Botox procedure about a year ago and it left her with two bad sides of her face. The popular morning show host did not go into a detailed explanation about having “two bad sides”. However, Ripa did say that she feels like she is finally starting to look like herself once again.

During the 6-month period of being unable to smile, Ripa points out that many people were curious what was wrong with her and why she wasn’t smiling very much. Her answer to all of those people was that she was smiling. However, nobody could really tell that she was smiling.

The first time Ripa mentioned having Botox was back in 2014 when she was a guest on the TV show, “Watch What Happens Live”. During that appearance, she praised Botox and claimed that the treatment had cut her time getting ready to go out in half. While she did not say whether or not others should have the treatment, she did say that using Botox had changed her life. Ripa also said that the key to having Botox is being aware of your appearance and also taking a minimalist approach to the treatment.

Ripa did not mention the minimalist approach when she told the story of her bad Botox experience on “Live with Kelly”. While she might still believe in that approach, Ripa might not have followed her own advice during the treatment that ended badly last year.
