Courteney Cox Regrets Fighting the Aging Process

Courtney Cox Regrets Plastic Surgery

Besides being known as one of the cast members of “Friends”, Courteney Cox is also well known as one of the biggest celebrity users of plastic surgery in Hollywood. In a recent interview in NewBeauty Magazine, the actress says “I grew up thinking that appearance was the most important thing. That’s kind of sad because it got me in trouble. I was trying so hard to keep up, and I actually made things worse.”

Cox went on to say that she tried to fight the aging process by getting revisions and touch-ups after various conversations with doctors. She said that doctors would often tell her that she looked fine on one part of her face but they would then recommend having injections or fillers to match the appearance of the rest of her face. The constant fillers and injections gave her appearance a layered look caused by the cosmetic procedures.

Her breaking point happened in February of 2016 when she attended a cast reunion event with her fellow “Friends”.  When discussing her appearance, Cox said “You have no idea [how it really looks] because it’s gradual until you go, ‘Oh s--t, this doesn’t look right,'" she says. “And it’s worse in pictures than in real life.”

One of the first steps in making a change in her appearance was letting all of the fillers in her face dissolve. She realizes that parts of her body will drop due to the aging process but she has decided not to fight that process anymore. She realized that, in trying to fight her age, she was actually making things look worse and even fake. Her new goal is to look as natural as possible and she already thinks that she looks more like her old self than she has in the recent past.

When asked to sum up her experiences with fillers, Cox feels that “you need movement in your face, especially if you have thin skin like I do. Those aren’t wrinkles — they’re smile lines. I’ve had to learn to embrace movement and realize that fillers are not my friend.”
