Does Ashlee Simpson really get nonstop plastic surgery? One of the new tabloids claims the singer undergoes constant cosmetic work, but the allegation is completely inaccurate. Gossip Cop looked into the claim and we’ve exclusively learned the truth.
According to an article in the latest issue of Star, Simpson has a habit of regularly making surgical tweaks to her face. A so-called “insider” tells the magazine, “She just can’t leave well enough alone and keeps running back to her doctor for more.” The outlet’s dubious insider goes on to contend that the singer recently got new lip fillers, Botox injections and another nose job, adding, “She’s all over Instagram showing off but everyone is snickering that she looks like Donatella Versace.”
Gossip Cop, however, checked in with a source close to the singer, who laughed off the tabloid’s assertion that she’s addicted to plastic surgery. Simpson has been open in the past about getting a nose job, but she doesn’t persistently return to the doctor for touchups. The outlet’s “insider” is either misinformed or nonexistent, but this tale of nonstop plastic surgery is entirely fabricated.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve had to debunk a bogus rumor about the singer. Gossip Cop previously called out Star’s sister publication, OK!, for falsely claiming Simpson was fighting with her sister Jessica over her fashion choices. The tabloid alleged the younger Simpson sibling accused the older one of dressing like a “stripper,” but there was no truth to the story. A rep confirmed to Gossip Cop the supposed feud was totally made up.
Additionally, Gossip Cop is no stranger to correcting phony reports about celebrities undergoing cosmetic work. We recently called out Star’s other sister outlet, the National Enquirer, for making up a similar story about Lindsay Lohan getting nonstop plastic surgery. The claim wasn’t true about the actress, and it’s no more accurate about Simpson.
