2017 Cosmetic Surgery Trends

Posted April 04, 2017
Here is the summary of plastic surgery trends of 2017

As the end of 2016 approaches, cosmetic surgery followers are already looking ahead to the procedures that will be big in 2017. What procedures look to be the most popular choices in the coming year?

One trend that will continue to be popular in the coming year is minimally invasive treatments that involve little to no downtime for patients. The desire to have treatments that involve little recovery time is popular among both celebrities and the general public. Examples of celebrities who have enjoyed noninvasive treatments include:

  1. Bar Rafaeli – She is a fan of the Vampire Facelift which involves injecting platelet rich plasma (PRP) into the skin to energize the cells, increase collagen production and promote the regeneration of skin.
  2. Kyle Richards – One of the stars of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”, Richards uses SculpSure which is the first FDA-approved laser treatment to be used for the purpose of noninvasive lipolysis treatments.
  3. Khole Kardashian – This member of the Kardashian family uses Kybella to get rid of double chins via injections.

Among the general public, some of the most popular minimally invasive treatments in 2017 look to be light to medium chemical peels, laser treatments and cosmetic tattooing.

Fat Transfer

Patients using their own fat during cosmetic surgery will likely continue to grow in popularity in 2017. Fat grafting can augment many areas of the body including the buttocks, breasts and calf muscles. Another fat transfer procedure that should continue to grow in popularity is stem cell facelifts which is essentially fat injections for the face.

Cosmetic Surgery for Men

The trend of more men seeking surgery to look younger and help them succeed in the business world looks to keep growing in popularity. Men account for at least 15\\% of the total number of plastic surgery treatments as they look to stay competitive in the current job market.

Varicose Veins

The treatment of varicose veins through nonsurgical methods grew in popularity this past year. Look for this trend to continue in 2017 as women look to eliminate these thick veins that are also known as spider veins. Varicose veins appear thanks to pregnancy, hormones or genetics. One new way to eliminate varicose veins is called VenaSeal. This FDA-approved treatment is an adhesive like superglue that is injected into the veins to block them. The blood that is collected in the veins is then directed to healthy veins and the blocked area of the veins clears up.

It is still too soon to tell what new treatments will appear on the cosmetic surgery scene in 2017. It will be interesting to see if the treatments listed above are still popular at the end of 2017 or if there will be new “hot treatments” on the market to take their place.
