5 Most Outrageous Plastic Surgery Procedures

Posted July 03, 2015

We all know that ever since plastic surgery was introduced to society, people have accepted its arrival with open arms. These aesthetic procedures offer an “easy fix” for people who are overweight or simply want to make drastic changes on their looks.

The most well-known cosmetic procedures include: liposuction, breast augmentation, facelifts, Botox, buttocks augmentation and hair restoration. However, in reality, this is just the tip of the ice burg. There is a whole world out there for plastic surgery and there are treatments currently available, which we’re sure you haven’t heard of.

Believe It or Not

Believe it or not, the procedures listed below have been done to at least a person…..or two. No matter how outrageous some of them might sound, you can be sure that this is by no means a hoax.

  1. Eye Implants: Apparently, a company called Bright Ocular has somehow developed artificial iris implants made of very thin and flexible silicone, which is then folded and inserted into the eye. It is originally intended to treat iris-related abnormalities but the company also claims to be able to change the eye color entirely for aesthetic purposes. Hurray for the people who always wanted to have rainbow eyes.
  2. Elfing: Also known as Spock ear cropping, this operation is for people who take cosplay very seriously. The procedure reshapes your ear, folding and slicing it, making it pointier as a result. This operation is actually pretty common in the body modification community, so don’t be surprised when you see one at a comic book convention.
  3. Abs Sculpting: Yep, the name says it all. If you can afford its price tag of around $6,000, then go right ahead and cancel your gym membership and dump all your protein powders in the trash while you’re at. You won’t need them after this procedure. This operation combines a tummy tuck and liposuction, which also shrinks the skin in the abdominal area, giving you that “washboard” look. Another method is to insert implants directly in the abdomen and is designed for patients who don’t have enough muscle mass to show even after the liposuction.
  4. Eyelash Transplant: Another procedure for the eyes. However, this procedure uses a donor’s eyelashes to replace your current ones through transplantation. It could even give you eyelashes that never stop growing. That’s right, say goodbye to taking trips to the spa to get your eyelashes done, these babies are 10 times better.
  5. Dimple Creation: Not everyone is born like Mario Lopez or Jennifer Garner. But at least you can have their dimples. With this neat little surgery, a small incision is made inside the mouth and a small suture connects the buccinators muscle and the skin of the cheek, creating an indentation that is virtually indistinguishable from a real dimple.

What the Future Holds for Cosmetic Surgery

Plastic surgery and body modification have become such an integral part of modern day society that people are willing to push the boundaries of aesthetic surgery. To some extent, we should be grateful for these pioneers. By putting their own bodies on the line, they are giving doctors the opportunity to come up with new techniques and procedures. I guess some people are brave enough to make drastic body modifications even though some of these procedures are irreversible.

Only time will tell what the future of plastic surgery will be. One thing that is apparent, however, is that botched operations will never disappear. More and more people are pushing the limits of their body and surgical technology itself, in hopes of achieving the aesthetic features of their dreams.
