Sources are saying superstar singer Mariah Carey has undergone weight loss surgery after reading online comments about her appearance.
According to reports, Mariah had gastric sleeve surgery earlier this fall in Beverly Hills to deal with her weight gain. The surgery involves a removal of part of the stomach so the patient feels full more quickly while eating. The surgery has a fast recovery time, thanks to its small incision, and little scarring.
A source told Page Six, “Mariah has always been proud of her curves, but this summer, as her Caesars Palace residency came to a close, and then she went on tour with Lionel Richie, she noticed it became harder to dance, and she was getting a lot more criticism online from body shamers.” The source added “Mariah underwent the procedure about a month ago, and she is already seeing some good results, and she feels a lot better.”
Carey has already been suspected of having plastic surgery procedures such as rhinoplasty, breast implants and a tummy tuck. Her rep, Nicole Perna, declined to comment on the speculation about Mariah’s weight loss.
