Is Tom Cruise Opting for Plastic Surgery?

Posted February 17, 2016

Two things immediately come to mind when you mention Tom Cruise: the movie, “Mission Impossible,” and the religious organization, Scientology.  But what about plastic surgery?

Tom Cruise, the famous Hollywood celebrity is currently 52 years old. However, his looks are anything but old. In fact, it seems this Mission Impossible agent hasn’t aged at all since he starred in the film back in 1996! This has left many people (both men and women) wondering how he is able to preserve his youthful looks!

The widely accepted explanation is that Tom has done what most Hollywood celebrities do –spend a fortune on plastic surgery. According to some insiders, Tom Cruise has recently spent about $50,000 on facial fat transfer which is an increasingly popular procedure that aims to counteract aging by transferring the body’s own fat to the face. This adds volume and encourages collagen production in the skin and can take years off your looks without using any chemicals or synthetics fillers and implants.

When asked about getting work done, Tom Cruise unsurprisingly denies any allegations and claims that he would never use plastic surgery as a way to maintain his appearance. This has some truth in it since facial fillers only uses injections and does not require any cutting or actual “surgery.” Even when using the fat transfer approach, where an incision is usually made in the abdomen or thighs, it is done endoscopically to minimize scarring and recovery.

Despite the denials, plenty of plastic surgeons like Dr. Anthony Youn, MD have pointed out all of the facial procedures Tom has done recently. Making the observation that Tom’s face is just too puffy and swollen for it to be natural, Dr. Youn concludes that Tom indeed has had facial fat transfer and that he may have also gotten Botox along with it.

Furthermore, there have been numerous reports surfacing lately that the actor has indeed gone for extensive plastic surgery on his nose and front teeth. Not to mention other celebrities like talk show host, Andy Cohen, who came forward and backed up the rumors. Cohen said on one occasion he visited Tom Cruise by surprise at his house and saw him with “all of these dots all over his face and I was like, ‘You all right?’ and he goes, ‘I didn’t know you were coming’ and I was like, ‘I can see why.’”

In fact, contrary to what Tom Cruise says, he DID indeed have plastic surgery during his adolescent years.  Tom received rhinoplasty and dental rejuvenation during his younger years before he was in the celebrity spotlight. Photos have surfaced clearly showing Tom’s nose much thicker than it is now and his 2 front teeth were so crooked that it made him look like a completely different person.

While critics continue to bash on his decision, there are those who support Tom’s plastic surgery by arguing that aging is natural and if there is a way to preserve your looks or even make you look younger, why not use it? These progressive individuals embrace plastic surgery as a new form of anti-aging cream and hail it as a necessity among people who make a living off their good looks.

No matter how you cut it, the story is now out and it is here to stay. No longer can we say that celebrities look the way they do because of their fortunate genetics, but also with the help of a surgeon and his scalpel.
