Gift Giving Ideas for Any Occasion

Posted October 12, 2015

One of the hardest decisions to make in life is what to give as a gift to a loved one. Whether it’s the holidays, a birthday or simply saying “thank you”, trying to find the perfect gift is not an easy task.  Cosmetic procedures might not be the first idea that comes to mind but giving cosmetic procedures has been growing in popularity for the past few years. While the list of gift giving ideas continues to grow, here are some of the most popular procedures being handed out to friends and family on a regular basis.

  • Breast Implants – A growing number of high school students are receiving breast implants as a graduation gift. Statistics from The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery show the number of teenagers having procedures performed rose 20% between 2013 and 2014. The reasons teenagers are receiving breast implants range from the desire to fit in and also wanting to look more like teenage celebrities they follow on social media such as Kylie Jenner.
  • Mommy Makeovers – The desire to look like they did before having children is one of the driving factors behind mommy makeovers. Many husbands are gifting their wives on their birthdays with this procedure that combines a tummy tuck with a breast lift. While the procedure helps a woman regain her body, it also helps boost self-esteem and confidence.
  • Rhinoplasty – Many high school and college students are receiving the gift of a new nose as a graduation surprise. There are a few reasons behind this trend. One reason is the fact that a new nose can help people feel more confident about their looks and have better self-esteem. Graduation Day also means it is time for the graduate to enter the workforce. Having a new nose can help a person enter the workforce, and the interview process, with confidence while feeling comfortable about their looks.
  • Fillers – A gift that continues to rise in popularity due to the number of celebrities sporting fuller lips thanks to this treatment. Fillers are a non-invasive and non-expensive way to fill in depressions on the skin such as scars. The fillers can also be used in the lips to add volume and provide fuller lips for red carpet events and special evenings out with friends and family. Fillers can also help hide the effects of aging by filling in areas plagued by wrinkles.
  • Laser Hair Removal – Fighting the random hairs that grow all over the body is sometimes a losing battle. No matter how many times a person takes a razor or tweezers to their body, the stray hairs will grow back.  In fact, they sometimes grow back at a faster rate and are thicker than before they were cut, plucked or tweezed.  Laser hair removal is when the melanin in the hair absorbs the laser causing the hair being treated to be destroyed. Depending on the size of the area being treated, laser hair removal may require multiple treatments. This is a great gift that is a way of saying that you’re thinking about someone and want to brighten their day.
  • Body Contouring – A wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day ever for the bride. However, there are some brides who don’t feel as confident as they should on their special day thanks to insecure feelings about their body. Non-invasive body contouring procedures help people lose inches off their waistlines. Depending on the type of procedure, the unwanted fat is either frozen or melted away thanks to modern technology. CoolSculpting is when the fat is frozen while Liposonix is a heat based procedure. The loss of unwanted fat before her big day can make a bride smile even more than her wedding ceremony.

It should be noted that great care must be used when giving the gift of a cosmetic procedure. While some people might think they are being thoughtful and giving the perfect gift, the person who receives the gift might be offended or worried about how they are perceived by others. Make sure that the person receiving the gift is open to the idea of a cosmetic procedure or the gift giver might find their own special gift is a night in the doghouse.
