Celebrity Plastic Surgery Nightmares!

Posted September 21, 2015

Almost everybody has experienced a moment of “red carpet realization”.  It’s that moment when something is obviously not quite right with a famous celebrity. Something just looks “off” about their appearance. Are their breasts bigger or smaller? What is going on with their lips? Is their face looking younger or tighter or wrinkle-free? The answers to all of these questions often have one inescapable answer: A case of bad celebrity plastic surgery.

There’s bad celebrity plastic surgery and then there are some cases which rank as the worst celebrity plastic surgery jobs ever witnessed by the public.  The following are some examples of celebrity plastic surgery gone wrong.

  • Tara Reid is known less for her work in the “American Pie” movies and more for her plastic surgery.  Tara was a fresh faced actress in 1999 when the first “American Pie” movie debuted. By 2004, she was mainly known for a botched boob job which resulted in sagging breasts and a liposuction surgery that left her with ripples on her stomach. She has spent a lot of time and money since 2004 trying to repair all of the damage caused by her plastic surgery procedures.
  • Sometimes a nose job can be the difference between working, or not, in Hollywood. Jennifer Grey became famous for her work in “Dirty Dancing”.  Grey decided to get a nose job (rhinoplasty) in 1989 and effectively ended her career. Instead of making her prominent nose a little less noticeable, the surgery made her look like an entirely different person. Grey has even stated that she came out of the procedure no longer being a famous person. Why? No one recognized her anymore! She immediately stopped getting work due to her altered appearance and her career as a movie star was over.
  • Priscilla Presley is best known as the former wife of the king of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis Presley. However, she is also well known for her amazingly awful plastic surgery results. A rundown of her procedures include cheek implants that make her face appear permanently puffy, a brow lift that has left her with a droopy look and plastic surgery that has given her a frozen look at all times.  Presley has admitted to being addicted to Botox injections as well as the startling fact that the injections were performed by a phony doctor.  In fact, the phony doctor went to prison after being accused of the same illegal work by other celebrities. It appears that having all the money you could ever need still doesn’t buy enough common sense to use the services of a board-certified doctor.
  • Another Elvis family member is also well known for his plastic surgery work over the years. Michael Jackson was known as the king of pop and was once married to Elvis’ daughter.  As famous as Michael became for his dance moves and music, he was equally famous for his plastic surgery. It’s been said that Jackson had several nose nobs, eyelid surgery, a cleft placed in his chin and cheek implants. It’s also been said that the nose jobs left him with a total cartilage collapse that damaged the breathing passages of his nose. Paul McCartney once remarked that Jackson told him he was going to a religious retreat. According to McCartney, when Jackson returned from the retreat he had a “smashing new nose”.

Unfortunately, the plastic surgery disasters listed above are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the worst celebrity plastic surgery jobs.  The pressure to remain young looking is a constant for both male and female celebrities.  Many of these celebrities are proof that having a lot of money doesn’t mean a person will always make the best decisions when it comes to picking a plastic surgeon for their procedures.  Whether a person is a superstar celebrity or a normal citizen, the first step in the plastic surgery process is finding an experienced board-certified doctor to perform the surgery. Picking an experienced doctor with a track record of quality work can help celebrities avoid being on the Internet as an example of plastic surgery gone wrong.
