Brazilian Butt Lift…Butt Is It Worth It?

Posted May 19, 2015

With the rise of pop culture celebrities like Kim Kardashian or Nicki Minaj, having a curvaceous bottom has become almost synonymous with American culture. In fact, a 2012 study shows that plastic surgeons across the nation have performed about 10,000 buttock augmentations and rising. Which makes sense, considering it’s known for producing a more natural look and feel, compared to more traditional operations such as butt implants. However, it is not nearly as many compared to more popular procedures such a breast augmentation.

Brazilian Butt Lift

Also known as BBL, Brazilian Butt Lift claims to offer a permanent solution to flat or sagging buttocks, helping to increase its size and shape without the side effects that come with implants. BBL is usually done to patients who can benefit from getting liposuction elsewhere from their body, where the fat is processed into droplets and micro re-injected to add volume on the buttocks. Common areas for liposuction can include the back, stomach and thighs, which directly compliment your lower body contour. Since BBL involves fat grafting and not implants, the results you get from the treatment should be long lasting as long as the transferred fat is harvested, processed and injected properly. Even if you lose weight later on, the treated area should remain unaffected.

Bottom Line

If you’ve already made up your mind to get a Brazilian Butt Lift, here are some things to keep in mind. The price is affected by how many areas of liposuction will be performed. You may be able to find better deals if you are price shopping, but just ensure that the surgeon you choose doesn’t have a high revision rate, or you could find yourself in a whole lot of headache.
