Instabreast

The idea of women with large breasts being the American standard has long been a part of our society.  While many women are comfortable with the way they look with smaller breasts, there are other women who are interested in breasts implants.  One of the main reasons why women don’t commit to the surgery is the uncertainty of what the newer/larger breasts will look like on their bodies.  It’s also a very personal decision that should not be rushed into. Thankfully, there is now a way to preview how breast implants will look on the body thanks to a procedure called “Instabreast.”

WHAT EXACTLY IS INSTABREAST?

Instabreast offers women a temporary boost in their breast size via an injection of saline solution without having surgery. The injection is absorbed by the body and is designed to temporarily add volume to the breasts.  After about 24 hours, the breasts will return to their normal size.  The procedure only takes about 20 minutes to perform and provides a safe way for women to see how their bodies will look before committing to surgery.  Instabreast replaces the old methods of stuffing a bra with implants or taking pictures and morphing them on a computer to see how the breasts would look with more volume.

This procedure injects saline (salt water) into the breast and helps to not only make it bigger but also have more pole fullness.  It’s a safe procedure that gives a good approximation of what implants are going to look and feel like. In theory, the saline injection can be used on various parts of the body to approximate an implant.  The injection can also be used on the nose, cheeks and buttocks.

WHAT KIND OF PATIENT IS INTERESTED IN THE PROCEDURE?

The women who are interested in Instabreast come from all walks of life and from all age groups. Since they get to see what the results will look like in advance, the procedure eliminates buyer’s remorse. There is a phrase known as “breast shock” which occurs after the implant goes in. It’s when patients are afraid the breasts are too large after the surgery.  The Instabreast procedure helps to eliminate that feeling in advance.

IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE SIZE OF A BREAST INCREASE?

There’s really no limit to the size of a breast implant, which is the same for Instabreast. The average implant size in this country is 234cc, which is equivalent to a bottle of water. A company named Mentor makes the biggest breast implant, which is a gummy bear 800cc implant. There’s no need to go that high unless, for example, someone is an A cup and they want to be a C cup.

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

In rare cases, some patients might see some sagging but that is due more to genetics and anatomy than the saline.  The saline is already in a patient’s body and is not a foreign substance so that reduces the chances of any major side effects from the injection.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER TEMPORARY OPTIONS?

One of the more common things being done with breast augmentation is using the patient’s own fat, the doctor harvests fat and then injects it to give the patient their own autologous fat.  It’s temporary in a sense that the fat being injected diminishes as time passes but it still lasts longer than saline.

CONCLUSION

In 1962, the first implant was put in. Prior to that date, women would have a pure silicone injection to their breast, which is extremely unsafe to do and is not really being used anymore these days. The implant procedures have gone from an injectable to an implant and are now back to an injectable with fat.  Fat grafting to the breast has now become a popular method of breast augmentation. Using the saline injection is a good step in the process of finding a perfect breast implant.  At this point, it is not known how long it will take to make the perfect breast implant but using the saline injection is a good starting point.
